Every year thousands of Americans suffer from Malaria, West Nile Virus, Zika Virus, Morgellons Disease and many other tropical diseases yet there are no trained personnel and medicines in the pharmacy in the USA to treat these conditions. Also we know that American citizens and foreign nationals may contract tropical diseases and bring them back to the USA and infect other people. Such patients may not get prompt and expert care at this time because most American doctors and health workers are not trained for this. Such patients may die before the diagnosis and treatment is given because the medicines are not obtainable in local pharmacies across the USA. For example a patient with Cerebral Malaria may die in a few days after presentation and in the current situation anti-malarials are not available in the local pharmacies and may take days or weeks to get to the patient. This may be too late.  Many more patients are suffering from one tropical disease or another but will never be diagnosed for years. These type of patients go from doctor to doctor, hospital to hospital, in the USA and labeled with various wrong diagnoses and their conditions never get treatment. One such example is Morgellons disease (see Delusional Parasitosis).

Since the USA constitution gives all citizens the same right for medical care during sickness, do you agree that Tropical Medicine Bill should be passed to authorize the practice of Tropical Medicine as mainstream medical speciality in the USA and Hospitals to provide prompt treatment for these patients? If you agree please reply "Yes" and then include your comment. We need 33,000 signatures to meet our goal for the bill to be presented to congress. Join this movement for positive change and save lives. Thanks.

Very serious diseases, it's only right that our medical community is prepared to treat patients presenting with these conditions.

I believe that there should be training and pharmacy updated training and supplies. though the cost effected needs consideration so maybe one pharmacy from each major city at this point.

Sure, I agree. It is only proper that every American's health care concern should be paramount.Americans travel overseas, especially to tropical countries and citizens of tropical countries do visit the US and many are residents and citizens.By these movements, the chances of contacting any of the tropical diseases are very high, therefore, call for a bill supporting the tropical medicine mainstream practice, research, etc should be enacted to keep Americans safe.
